The University of the Basque Country (Basque: Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea, EHU; Spanish: Universidad del País Vasco, UPV; UPV/EHU) is the public university of the Basque Autonomous Community. It has campuses over the three provinces of the autonomous community. It stands out as a main research institution in the Basque Country.

Euskara Institutua Basque Language Institute at UPV/EHU coordinates research and publishing about all aspects of the Basque language, including electronic dictionaries, grammars, and corpora, which are accesible at the Institute’s website. IXA research group at UPV/EHU’s Faculty of Computer Science develops and maintains NLP resources and tools for the Basque language, such as taggers, spell checkers, and the Basque Wordnet. At UPV/EHU Faculty of Arts, two research groups work on lexicography, being the Faculty the main holder of expertise regarding historical Basque dictionaries and other textual resources.
